vor knapp 5 Jahren gründete hugo hoppman das projekt PIQTO... (http://www.piqto.com/ ) in köln, um sich kreativ auszudrücken, um grafiken für fashion zu designen die ihm gefallen. ich lernte es vor ca. 3 jahren, über seine schwester, kennen und war völlig begeistert. kaum einer in meinem alter saß ohne ein PIQTO- Shirt im südpark oder im volksgarten kölns. was mich, als graffiti- und typographiefan und „maler“, immer schon begeistert hat und immer noch begeistert, ist sein gefühl für buchstaben, farben und form seiner grafiken und designs. den momentanen hype des minimalismus in der designwelt, sei es fashion, architektur, oder irgend ein flyer einer technoparty, den man in die hand gedrückt bekommt, trifft er par excellence, und zwar auf seine eigene art und weise. seit ca. einem jahr studiert hugo visual communication in der schweiz und veröffentlicht seine arbeiten auf seiner internetseite: http://www.hugohoppmann.com/

about 5 years ago hugo hoppmann established the project PIQTO (http://www.piqto.com ) in cologne (germany) to express himself in a creative way and to design graphics for fashion he liked.
when i heard about it the first time through his sister, which was 3 years ago, i was just so impressed, I couldn’t believe it.
I hardly knew anyone my age without a piqto shirt at that time... his feeling for letters, colours and forms of his graphics and designs especially thrilled me as a graffiti- and typography-fan.
one term, which he particularly hits with his work and style, is the current hype for MINIMALISM that exists in the designworld, let it be in fashion, architecture or just on a simple flyer for a technoparty.
hugo has now studied visual communication in switzerland for about one year and he publishes his work on his website: http://www.hugohoppmann.com
